Hi everybunny! 

We're back with a brief update. Unfortunately, Loppy has been bedridden this last week due to illness. It is the beginning of cold and flu season in the United States.  

We received another round of samples from our manufacturer Loppy will review once they are feeling a little bit better.  Loppy did go to the doctor today and was prescribed treatment so hopefully they will be feeling better very soon! Once the samples are reviewed, we will share them with you all like what we did last time.

Hi everyone! We're back with another sample update!

Thank you for your continued patience and support while Loppy works with their manufacturer to ensure all Hurtsies are perfect! Here are the latest rounds of samples for Grave Robbert, Nibbles, Riffraff, and Wiggles with revision notes Loppy has sent back to their manufacturer. 


A Note on Critiques:
Thank you so much for your feedback! We want to take a moment to remind folks if providing feedback please provide constructive feedback (theoretical examples of what not to do: this plushie looks awful, can you go back to your old manufacturer, it's ugly, etc, etc).

Survey Update:
We still have not sent surveys out yet because we want to make sure the samples are perfected so you, our backers, have the most informed design when selecting which Hurtsie you want. Since it is taking a tad longer than we anticipated to have samples completed we expect the production timeline will likely shift. Once we know more, we'll update our production timeline!

Pre-Order Store
We are still planning to open a pre-order store to allow folks who missed out on pledging a chance to adopt a Hurtsie! The date on that is TBD but hopefully very soon!

Moving Forward: Samples, Surveys, More!

The campaign is over, and now the real work begins! Thank you all so much for supporting me for my very first Backerkit campaign. Since this is my first project here on Backerkit, I'm taking things slow so the process goes as smoothly as possible. My assistant, Riot, will be helping me answer questions and e-mails. However, I ask that you please give us a bit of patience as we get to everyone. I will continue providing updates and photos as each step of production commences!

Here's what we're working on right now!

  •  As of November 1st, we have begun processing pledges. Surveys will be sent out shortly so you can choose your Hurtsies and add-ons, as well as setting up shipping. We are delaying surveys a bit until we get the completed samples in. Due to popular demand, we will also be setting up a preorder shop for those who were unable to pledge during the campaign. 

  • Samples are still in production! The first round of photos I shared was graciously sent by my manufacturers so we could speed along the process by getting everything placed roughly where it ought to be. I know the paper faces threw some people off, but it's nothing more than a matter of saving time. I'm about to send off the color edits and adjustments for the finalized samples! 

  • RE: Mishmash's design! I had a lot of comments mentioning that they liked the first sample shown better. However, I need to clarify that this is the same sample. It's just complete with embroidery and updated straps. Due to Mishmash being a backpack, his shape is a little bit different compared to the stiffer base of the other Hurtsies. This is so you can store more goodies inside of him. His legs are a bit longer so that he can be placed in a seated position like the other Hurtsies. That being said, he does still need a few tweaks, but he's getting there! 


I'll be making little adjustments to the plushes here and there, but I'll share each step of the way with yall!



My current priorities are getting these samples finished and surveys sent out after! So next update, I'll have even more goodies to share with you. (OH! and did I mention we're getting a cool official logo soon?)

GRUFF JOINS THE FRAY: First Round of Samples!

With just ten hours left in the campaign, we have unlocked Gruff!
And thanks to the hard work of my partner factory, we have the first few sample photos. In the interest of time, these samples are very rough drafts just to display where the markings will be + the functional innards!


From left to right:
All of the plushies need some adjustments to their colors, which will be shown in the next round of sampling. The embroidery will be added once I choose the correct colors!

Wiggles: How cute are her little brainworms? The wormies are spiral and function as a fun little fidget toy to whirly around your fingers.
Grave Robbert: Grave Robbert's "spine" functions as an elastic headband, with a removable bone. (Depending on size constraints, we will have two bones. If we can't fit them inside the 10" plushie, I can't help but imagine jumbo Hurtsies in the future...
Nibbles: Nibbles's brain is made from mochi fabric to function as a stress ball!
Mishmash: Mishmash is pretty much ready to go! Their body is floppier than the standard-sized Hurtsies, but has lots of room for your things! The zippers are located on the back of the head and back, so your belongings are safe from sticky fingers.
Riffraff: Riffraff has a little storage pouch in his tummy! The zipper will be moved to the side in a matching color. You can store snacks (or coins, or whatever) inside! <3

With Mumble and Gruff being unlocked, their samples will be completed after this round is finished!
There are now approximately 8 hours remaining in the campaign. Let's keep it going! As a reminder, make sure to look through the new add-ons (including sticker books, charms, etc!)

NEW! Add-ons: Three Days Left!

It was suggested by a backer to add more add-ons so we might potentially reach more funding goals. I actually had these tucked in my pocket, but the comments encouraged me to polish them up and throw ‘em out there! With three days remaining, do you think we can unlock Gruff?!




Will you choose between accessories or stickers? Or maybe both? Can’t pledge more, but want to help regardless? Share the project to help us infect as many people as possible!

And here’s a couple frequently asked questions, just to close us out!

Will the Hurtsies be for sale after the campaign ends? Oftentimes with preorders, there will be extra stock leftover. I will put whatever extra plushies I have up for sale. However, the only way to be guaranteed a shot at getting the Hurtsie you want is to pledge now! (And I do have plans for a Series 2 eventually…!)

Can I wait to see the samples before I choose my Hurtsie? Yes! My partner factory is hard at work on the samples now. I will continue to update as we get new samples in. However, I will delay surveys until the samples are complete. Please read the last update for more information on Grimsley’s great misadventure!
